Vilma Wong, a nurse at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in California, quickly become suspicious of a second-year paediatric neurology resident at her hospital. His name, Brandon Seminatore, seemed familiar but she couldn’t quite place it.
“I kept asking questions, like where he was from and he told me he was from San Jose, and that as a matter of fact, he was a premature baby born at our hospital. I then got very suspicious because I remember being the primary nurse to a baby with the same last name.”
It turns out, Brandon’s mom had given him an old photo of the nurse, holding him as a baby, and told him to keep an eye out. He was that same 29-weeks born baby she took care of 28 years ago.
“I’ve come full circle and I’m taking care of babies with the nurse that took care of me.”, Brandon said.
